The Sea as Muse<\/strong><\/h3>

Jill’s Welsh seascape art draws profound inspiration from the mighty moods of the sea\u2014its sound, its shifting light, its power to both calm and enthral. She often speaks about working with \u201clight, moonlight and all the shades of sun and seawater\u201d. Her seascapes frame both the expansive sky and sheet of water, capturing moments when nature seems to breathe. In one painting titled \u201cDo Not Go Gentle [Into That Good Night]\u201d<\/em> she uses a sunset\u2019s amber glow to embody a meditative drama of sea and sky.<\/p>

Style and Technique<\/strong><\/h3>

Jill\u2019s style blends realism with something more expressive. Indeed, her brushwork dances between firm detail and fluid suggestion. She layers under-paintings and builds from the sky downward, adjusting colour and tone until the atmosphere feels right: \u201cI used to always start at the bottom and work up. Now, I start with my skies\u2026\u201d she explained. Her palette tends toward vibrant, uplifting hues\u2014reflecting her aim not to dwell in gloom but in optimism and energy.<\/p>
