Pembrokeshire Artist, Jill Jones

Pembrokeshire Artist, Jill Jones has established herself as a significant contributor to the County’s artistic scene. She has achieved this in just three short years, such is her prolific talent and drive. Jill is based in the hamlet of Talbenny, within the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Here she runs the Havens’ Art Gallery and Art School. At any one time, up to 50 original artworks may be viewed here.

To visit the gallery, from Little Haven take the road south towards Dale. Just after the crossroads in Talbenny, the studio is on the left. Clear road-side signage indicating the precise location. The studio lies just over a mile from the wonderful Pembrokeshire coast. And it is this coastal environment that is a constant source of artistic inspiration for Jill and many of her students.

Art Tuition

Pembrokeshire Artist Jill Jones runs regular art classes at her studio/gallery. These go under the name, β€˜Art Your Way’ and feature careful thought and meticulous planning. As a result, participants will have an enjoyable, invigorating and educational time. Courses last a half day or a full day and feature seascapes, abstracts, Pembrokeshire places or whatever students prefer.

‘En plein air’

If preferred, courses may be ‘en plein air’. These take place either in the studio’s extensive grounds or at a local beach or other location, within 15 – 20 minutes drive. The method enables the artist to better capture the changing details of weather and light and contrasts with studio painting that might create a predetermined look. This method .is becoming more popular and recently Jill has held joint outdoor sessions with renowned New York artist, Charity Lynn Baker.
